Neighbors From Hell?

[rant]
On occasion, I beta Playstation 2 games. Due to NDA concerns, I can't mention any specific games I've tested, but I can say I've seen several games that are a year or more away from their release dates. It's great being a tester. I feel like I'm providing a good service to my fellow Playstation 2 console owners.

As many of you know, I recently moved. So, I have new neighbors and a new address. A new Playstation 2 beta started at the same time I was packing and moving things aroung. I thought to myself, "cool, this is a perfect opportunity to update my contact info with Sony." (more)

Doom 3 Goes Gold!

At last! The moment many of us have been waiting for! Doom 3 has gone GOLD! this means, id Software has pressed the master CD that will be delivered to their publisher for mass production of the game. According to the .plan file of id Software's CEO Todd Hollenshead:
We literally just hung up with Activision and have confirmed that our latest release candidate has been mutually approved and is finally GOLD. So, the next question is release dates. Retailers in the States will be allowed to pick up games starting at 12:01 AM on August 3rd. The official street date is actually August 5th in the U.S.A., but some of your favorite stores will probably have it early for those of you who have to have it first. Check with your local retailer for that information... [Internationally] the UK will probably get it first, on or about August 6th. Everywhere else will probably be Friday, August 13th (cue Twilight Zone Theme) or close to that date, with just a few exceptions (e.g. Russia and Poland).

Doom 3 - August 3, 2004?

I have not seen any official relases from id Software themselves. However, several online game resellers such as EB Games and Gamestop are listing Doom 3's release date as August 3, 2004. Right around the time we should be seeing a handful of other FPS games. If this is true, Doom 3 will hit the shelves before Half-Life 2 does. Strategy move? Well, if it is true, let's hope id Software isn't trying to meet this delivery date at the cost of game quality.

Spammers Should ALL go to Hell!

I try to not go off-topic on MG, but this is really pissing me off and I think venting in a public forum will help my own frustrations. Smiling

Apparently, my MG e-mail address is being used as the "From" address by several spam distributors. I assure you, THE SPAM IS NOT COMING FROM ME OR MULTIPLAYERGAMERS.COM!! Some a**hole out there on the Internet decided my e-mail address would be a good one to forge. These "spammers" are the scum of the earth and should all be sent straight to hell for their trespasses on on the sanctity of what used to be a valuable resource -- e-mail. A bit harsh, perhaps, but I started using the Internet back in 1990 when the World Wide Web wasn't even a thought in the back of someone's mind. The Internet was truly a resource, and not littered with the commercialization we see rampant today.

Troopers: Dawn of Destiny Mod for UT2004

Another UT2K4 mod showed up all of the sudden(well on the 8th), The much anticipated version 3.0 of Troopers: Dawn of Destiny a combat shooter modification which is set in the Star Wars Universe. It looks like a lot of work went into this mod and it great.

Yet another day stuck at work, not doing work.. wishing I could play games.......

Too Many Unreal Tournament 2004 Mods!

I would have wrote an entire article but it seems Voodoo Extreme has generated a good list of all the mods I've seen pop up resently. Here is the link

Where's Funar? (Moving Sucks!)

The rumors of Funar's death are greatly exaggerated. I'm still alive and kicking, if only barely. My wife and I are near the tail end of our move into a new house and it's really been taking its toll. Moving Sucks!

I'll be back with more news and articles for the MG community soon. Until then, enjoy the games and forums. Think of me in my time of need.. lol Smiling

Spaceminers

A browser based empire management game set in space. Fastgame is 30 second ticks and slowgame 30 minute ticks. It fun, you get to play against others by organizing a surprise attack on other people.

Funar: The original poster didn't include a link to the game. It's here: spaceminers.net. Looks interesting. Sort of reminds me of the BBS days I long for.

Funar's New Addiction: Star Wars Galaxies

I've been playing Star Wars Galaxies for a few weeks now, and what can I say? Never have it met so many people in an MMORPG that I've had such a good time going on hunting sprees with. Read the full article for more of my basic reviews. Screen shots from in-game are available in the gallery too!

Ati's Next Generation Solution

Hate to burst Mojo's bubble but Ati's new solution seems to be just as strong,
Here is the skinny from Anandtech.

Here some others reviews.

Just razzing you Mojo, it looks like both Ati and Nvidia both have there strong and weak points. All I know is I can't afford one for along time Sad
