Vista - Confused? Maybe This Will Help

Looking at the insanity that is the Windows Vista upgrade path, many people are confused as to what version is right for them. Microsoft's own web site doesn't even go into enough detail between Basic, Premium, Business, Ultimate, and the mix-and-match versions between.

In an attempt do demystify, GameStop has an article, A Walk Through Windows Vista that should help most people decide:

Considering an Upgrade to Vista? Read This!

Microsoft is touting Windows Vista as being "the best OS for games" (paraphrased). While this may be true for games developed on, and specifically geared toward Vista, gamers should stop and ask the question - "What about my 'old' games?" - and consider the answers very carefully.

ExtremeTech has a new article entitled Will Vista Run Your Games: The Final Word that every gamer considering taking the leap into "Vista-land" should read before shelling out the dough. Here's an excerpt:

Half-Life 2: Episode 2 Delayed Again

In a new press release, EA and Valve Software announced that Half-Life 2: Episode 2 is to be delayed yet again. Could Valve be regretting the shift from Vivendi to EA? Possible, but it's only speculation as to why the anxiously-awaited continued story of the life of Gordan Freeman and Alyx Vance after the fallout of the Combine is being postponed yet again.

Welcome to the new MultiplayerGamers.com!

I've been away from MG for quite some time, and I apologize. With the number of security issues with PostNuke and the constant spambot attacks, something had to be done with the site. In comes Drupal. I've been using Drupal on several web sites I maintain. Drupal is an incredible tool for a blog/news-style site. I knew Drupal was an excellent fit for MG. The major issue wasn't making the move to Drupal. Moving all of the old content, articles, comments, and users. was the headache. After several import script revisions, we're finally here. Spambots be damned!

Art. Lebedev Studios Releases 3-Key OLED Keyboard

I've personally been looking forward to these keyboards. If you're unfamiliar with OLEDs, you can find more about it on WikiPedia's OLED article. Basically, they're very tiny LEDs that can provide red, green, and blue color. Mixed together, you can generate any color as an RGB triplet.

What's so cool about these new keyboards is that each key will have an OLED array inside, allowing the user to change the actual look of every key on the keyboard.

Filerush Gives Up

As of January 1, 2006, our favorite location for patches, movies, and a solid defense for P2P networks when used legally, FileRush has closed down their BitTorrent servers for good:

As a way to ring in the new 2006 year, we've decided to discontinue the File Rush file section. This covers the bittorrents and direct downloads featured on the front page of filerush.com. Filerushnews.com will of course continue under the expert abilities of Brandon Shipe, and I'll be refocusing my efforts into areas where I can assist with that where possible.
